Albee’s play is a study of love and the social contract taken to its “logical conclusion.” Push comes to shove for Agnes and Tobias, suffering successive invasions of their home by Agnes’ sister (a vocal drunk), their 31 year old daughter (her fourth failed marriage), and then by their best friends Edna and Harry (fleeing the “terror” in their home). Is there a delicate balance in Agnes and Tobias’ home? Perhaps…not?
